The EU Customs Trader Portal provides a single access point to the online systems for Authorised Economic Operators (AEO), European Binding Tariff Information (EBTI), Information Sheet on Special Procedures (INF) and Registered Exporter (REX).
Access the EU Customs Trader Portal
The aim of the portal is to harmonise access to different EU customs systems. It is expected that all other EU customs systems will be connected to this portal in the near future.
How it works
Access to the EU Customs Trader Portal is for all economic operators (EOs) who:
- have Binding Tariff Information (BTI) decisions;
- plan to apply for a BTI decision after 1 October 2019;
- represent a company having or applying for a BTI decision.
Note that the following countries host a national BTI system and offer a national trader portal:
Authentication to access the EU Customs Trader Portal takes place through the Uniform User Management & Digital Signature system (UUM&DS).
EOs and other persons need to possess an Economic Operators Registration and Identification number (EORI) and the appropriate roles assigned to access UUM&DS.
To obtain an EORI number and role:
- You need to apply for an Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number from your national customs administration if you do not have it already.
- You need to request a user account and password for the identification and authorisation service of the EU Customs Trader Portal. This process is decentralised to the national administrations of each Member State: economic operators can request, in the Member States Customs office responsible for managing economic operators, a user account and password for accessing the EU Customs Trader Portal.
- Connect to the EU Customs Trader Portal and introduce the email address for receiving BTI-related notifications in your preferences under the user menu by clicking on the user icon.
After being authenticated in UUM&DS, end-users will be able to:
- interact with customs via the connected IT systems;
- manage tasks and notification;
- register their email address in order to receive the notifications also by email;
- have a complete view on submitted applications and requests;
- save a draft of an application or request for later submission, and manage these drafts;
- manage attachments, which are used in the applications and requests.
