Karel is a regular speaker at hearings of EU, national and international institutions, at international conferences and in executive programmes. He directs studies for national, multilateral and private sector organisations. His writings regularly appear in media. Karel is a member of company and foundation boards, and of advisory councils. Karel Lannoo holds a baccalaureate in philosophy (1984) and an MA in history (1985) from the University of Leuven, Belgium and obtained a postgraduate in European studies (CEE) from the University of Nancy, France (1986).
