Come and visit DG TAXUD at the EU Open Day 2023

On Saturday, 6 May, from 10:00 to 18:00, the European institutions will once again open their doors to the public, to celebrate Europe Day. During the Open Day, citizens can visit the institutions to find out more about what they do.

DG TAXUD will have a stand in the Safe Europe village in the Berlaymont building. We will showcase how EU Customs keep EU citizens safe, as well as the many other tasks they fulfil.

A highlight of our stand will be live demonstrations of a customs sniffer dog at work. We will also have a display of some of the most unusual items ever seized by customs, in cooperation with the Belgium Customs Authorities and the Customs Museum in Antwerp. Information panels and videos will invite visitors to learn more on the history of the EU Customs Union and how EU Customs impacts their daily lives.

Learn more about all the activities of the EU Open Day here. No registration needed. Access is free.

We look forward to welcoming you at our stand.
