Ms Maria Gabriela Horga was elected for four years term as a Member of the Chamber of Deputies in 2020-2024, representing the National Liberal Party (PNL). She holds the positions of Vice-Chairperson of the Budget, Finance, and Banks’ Committee, member of the European Affairs Committee and member of the Labor and Social Protection Committee within the Chamber of Deputies at the Parliament of Romania. While a Deputy, she was appointed as a Member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) and the Assembly's representative to MoneyVal (the expert committee for the evaluation of measures to combat money laundering and the financing of terrorism of the Council of Europe).

In the Romanian Parliament, she is mainly focused on fiscal policy and regulation, implementing a series of coordinated policies — in the monetary, fiscal and economic fields. Throughout her public career, she has focused on improving tax legislation, tax and revenue policy, corporate governance, measures to support the business environment, promote public and private investment, foreign direct investment, support and develop the capital market, and improve the access of small investors to financing programs and also encourage them to invest in Romanian capital market.

She is also holding the position of lecturer at the Bucharest University of Economic Studies, Faculty of Business Administration in Foreign Languages.
