Georg was born in Bonn, Germany in 1971. After University Law studies in Bonn and Paris he completed his first and second State Exam in Trier and Berlin. Georg started his career in the Tax Department of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) where he worked as a Manager for VAT and Energy Taxes in Berlin and then was in charge of the harmonization of both direct and indirect taxation in Brussels. He joined Siemens in 2007 where he is in charge of Tax Policy in the field of national and international corporate taxation. He is Vice Chair of the BusinessEurope Tax Policy Working Group as well as Chair of the BIAC “Expert Group on Tax and Digital”. In 2021 Georg founded the Institute for Digitization of Tax Law. The institute has 223 members from the private sector, from academia as well as from the tax administration and from the OECD.
