International cooperation

The European Union actively contributes to the setting of global standards to ensure high and equivalent standards in the area of risk management at the international level:

Contact groups

European Land Frontier, Ports and Airports contact groups

With the creation of the Customs Union and the Single Market, the cooperation between customs authorities had become crucial and controls must be as efficient as possible at the points of entry into the European Union. Contact groups have been created to increase the practical level of co-operation and co-ordination between customs administrations at the external frontier of the EU.
