Aurore LALUCQ

Economist and Member of the European Parliament

LALUCQ Aurore

Economist by training, Aurore Lalucq co-founded the Veblen Institute, a think tank in the field of ecological and social transition.

As specialist in the monetization and financialization of nature and the social-ecological transition, she has, among other things, written with the economist Jean Gadrey the book Faut-il donner un prix à la nature ?, which won the book prize of the foundation of political ecology. At the same time, she directed a collection of translations of major authors of economic thought and the “policies of transition” collection at the publisher Les petits matins.

In 2019, she was elected MEP. She sits on the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, the Committee on Employment, coordinates the Subcommittee on Tax Matters, and chairs the Intergroup on the Green New Deal.

In the European Parliament, Aurore Lalucq was notably rapporteur for the directive establishing at European level the OECD agreement on minimum taxation of multinationals, shadow rapporteur for the DAC 7 directive and rapporteur for the reform of the Code of conduct on harmful tax practices. This year, together with Paul Magnette, she launched a European citizens' initiative aimed at taxing the EU's largest fortunes to benefit the ecological and social transition.
