Autonomous tariff suspensions and quotas provide full or partial waivers of applicable import customs duties, designed to support EU industries by enabling access to certain strategic raw materials, semi-finished goods, or components that are either not produced or insufficiently produced within the EU, thereby reducing costs relative to standard customs duties. Updates to these suspensions and quotas occur biannually to accommodate the latest market developments.

Council Regulation 2025/2614 amended Regulation (EU) 2021/2283 opening and providing for the management of autonomous tariff quotas of the Union for certain agricultural and industrial products (Official Journal L 458 of 22.12.2021, p.33).

Council Regulation 2025/2605 amended Regulation (EU) 2021/2278 suspending the Common Customs Tariff duties on certain agricultural and industrial products (Official Journal L 466 of 29.12.2021, p. 1).
