Customs control equipment instrument – Information session for equipment manufacturers

Information about the session about CCEI

Update on 14/12/2021: Summary of the session to present the Customs Control Equipment Instrument (CCEI)

The Customs Control Equipment Instrument (CCEI) is a policy and financial instrument managed by the European Commission/DG TAXUD. It provides financial support to the customs authorities of the 27 Member States for the purchase, upgrade and maintenance of reliable and state-of-the-art customs control equipment that is secure, safe, cyber-resilient and environmental friendly. The full text of the CCEI regulation, part of the overall Multiannual Financial Framework of the European Union for 2021-2027, is available here.

The CCEI budget will be spent via the provision of dedicated equipment grants to the customs authorities of the Member States who will procure the specialised equipment and/or related services from the equipment manufactures and/or service providers, making them important external stakeholders to the CCEI programme.

DG TAXUD is organizing a virtual info session in a workshop format aimed at equipment manufacturers.

The purpose is to present the CCEI regulation and specifically the equipment financed under the Instrument, while focusing on the relevant equipment features as envisaged in the CCEI regulation: safety, security (including data protection and cybersecurity), interoperability, maintenance/warranties, green/environmental requirements etc. The presentation will be followed by a Questions & Answers section open to all participants.

The info session will take place on the 17th of November 2021.

The tentative duration of the session is 2h, from 10h30-12h30.

It will be followed by bilateral discussions with interested manufacturers providing the equipment included in the CCEI regulation.

The session is addressed exclusively to manufacturers of customs control equipment destined to border crossing points and customs laboratories, and financed under the CCEI Regulation. In case your organisation fulfils these criteria and is interested to participate, please contact: TAXUD-CCEI-A1atec [dot] europa [dot] eu (TAXUD-CCEI-A1[at]ec[dot]europa[dot]eu) and mention explicitly why your company is interested in joining.

The Commission reserves the right to accept/reject the request on the basis of the provided information and taking into account the objectives of the workshop.
