On 29 June, the European Commission released a new, improved version of the Customs Decisions system (CDS)

The Customs Decisions System is used in all Member States. Since 2017, the CDS facilitated more than 31.000 applications and 19.000 authorisations.

The new major release, developed in cooperation with Member States, significantly upgrades the functioning to the system for both traders and customs authorities. The major changes include an updated consultation mechanism depending on the customs decisions type, and an improvement to the consultation and right-to-be-heard process in case of an amendment.

Access to the system for traders (using the EU Trader Portal address) and customs authorities (through CCN2) remains the same. The support contact points have not been changed and are available on the Customs Decisions website, where more information is available.

Moreover, the updated eLearning course “UCC-Level 3-CDS,” part of an extensive UCC EU eLearning programme, is now available online (EN version). The course was adapted to the new Customs Decision System, already featuring the improved CDS user interface.
