Olga Cantó

Director of the Applied Economics Master Program, Universidad de Alcalá

Olga Cantó is Professor of Economics at the Universidad de Alcalá and coordinates a Master on Applied Economic Analysis focused on tools for Public Policy Evaluation. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence and has worked as a lecturer at the University of Vigo and as a Senior Researcher at the Spanish Institute for Fiscal Studies (Instituto de Estudios Fiscales - Spanish Ministry of Economy and Finance). Her main research interests span from the general theory and measurement of well-being to the statics and dynamics of the income distribution (inequality and poverty), the intergenerational transmission of opportunities and the distributional impact of fiscal and social policies. Her academic work has been published in both national and international journals, reports and books and she has recently participated as academic expert in the Spanish White Book for Tax Reform published in 2022.
